Will this list tell me which seat I should buy for my car and my child?

No, it won't. We wish that it could, but there are just too many different variations in car models and years, too many different variations in child seats, and too much difference in ability in installing carseats. However, the list WILL give you a starting point in your search for the Best Seat for you. It will give you some ideas of seats that did or did not fit well in cars that are similar to your own. After reading this list, and researching the seats on the market, you can make up a short list of seats to try first. But you will still need to physically try the seats in your own car YOURSELF. After all, the safest seat is not safe if you cannot install it correctly every time!

How can I get the most information from each entry?

Read each entry carefully. Make sure that you try to match the make, model AND year to your vehicle. Check that the installation is the same you are using. Read all of the comments field. Some tell if the information was checked by a carseat technician. Others mention tethers or specific seating positions that work or do not work. Generally speaking, the more information, the more reliable it is. This is not always the case, but you can get some idea of who knows what they are talking about.

Where did this information come from?

This information comes from parents and technicians who have shared their experiences with us. Some of it is very accurate, some of it less so. Information that is marked with a check mark should have been checked by a carseat technician, and therefore is most reliable. However, some non-techs who contribute data also submit very accurate information.

What if my car/carseat are not listed?

We're sorry. This database is only as good as the data that the community had submitted. You can see if there is any similar information that will help you. Then, when you are done with your search, submit what you found. After we add it the next parent WILL find what they need.

How can I add my information to the list?

Check out the Add Data page. There you can fill out a form with all the necessary information. We really appreciate everyone who takes the time to send us their fit data.
